Completion Requirements

Posted on

In order to complete the course you are required to do the theme specific exercises as well as the exercise-related peer reviews. At least half of the points for all three themes are required to complete the course. In addition, you will need to complete a separate short (not ready yet – will hopefully be available later).

This course includes three themes, each with three assignments. The maximum total of points for each assignment are 10, thus a theme’s maximum total points are 30 and the whole course’s 90 points. You will need to get at least 15 points in each of the three themes in order to pass. The minimum points to pass are 45. However, it is better to aim for a considerably higher score to avoid failing because of a point or two.

The course can’t be completed in sections (one theme at a time, for example). Instructions for finding, doing, submitting and reviewing the exercises can be found on the Instructions page.

Notice

This course has a tight schedule and the exercises will take a lot of time (especially to those who aren’t too familiar with IT). You can find more specific details about the schedule on the Schedule page. Note, that

  • The assignments have a specific due date every week. After the due date correct answers will be posted and delayed assignment submissions won’t be accepted.
  • Completion of each assignment is not mandatory as long as you reach the minimum total points of each theme.
  • Each assignment includes a review phase – two peer reviews and one self assesment. The amount of grade points will be the average of these three.
  • Help is available for the assignment should you need it. Support classes are held every week and help is offered in Moodle to distance learning students. Attending the support classes ensures that the assignments are done.
