Welcome to the homepage of Software Engineering Project 1 (COMP.SE.610, BSc level) and Software Engineering Project 2 (COMP.SE.620, MSc level) courses.

During the project, student teams implement a software product, a prototype, a proof of concept (PoC), or add new features to an existing application. Team size is 5-7 students, and teams have students from Software Engineering Project 1 (developers) and Software Engineering Project 2 (senior developers) courses.

News

• Important: Companies, associations, university units, etc., can propose projects for the course. Deadline for the project proposals for spring 2026 projects is on 07.01.2026.
• Next implementation of Software Engineering Project 1 (COMP.SE.610) and Software Engineering Project 2 (COMP.SE.620) starts in teaching period III (autumn 2025).
  • Intial lecture is exceptionally on Wednesday, 07.01.2026, starting at 14.15. Zoom link can be found from the Moodle.
  • Project topic presentations given by customers are on Thursday, 08.01.2026, starting at 14.15 (The link will be added to the Presentation page later).
• Course registration ends at 04.01.2026:
  • Software Engineering Project 1 (COMP.SE.610). This is a BSc level course, recommended for 3rd year students. Check required and recommend prerequisites from the course description.
  • Software Engineering Project 2 (COMP.SE.620). This is a MSc level course, recommended for 4th and 5th year students. Check required and recommended prerequisites from the course description.
